Patisa by Amritsari Sweet Ingredients and Recipe

Patisa is a very simple recipe to prepare but it still needs some skills for a perfect taste. The ingredients required are plain flour, gram flour, water, sugar, ghee, milk, charmagaz, and crushed cardamom seeds. These ingredients are easily available at home so one can prepare patisa right away. The polythene sheet is cut into 4 equal squares. The gram flour and plain flour are mixed together so each of them is equally refined. In a saucepan, ghee is heated up at medium to high flame. When the ghee is heated, the mixture is added to the pan and is allowed to roast till the color is light golden brown. It is kept aside to cool down while on the other hand, sugar syrup is prepared. The syrup is prepared from the mixture of water, milk, and sugar in a pan till the syrup reaches to 2.5 thread consistency. Just then the flour mixture is added to it and a fork is used to mix it so the mixture takes the form of flakes. In the final steps, it is placed on a greased tray which is one inch deep. The cardamom seed powder and charmagaz seeds are pressed gently and then it is cut into small squares to be consumed easily.
